What you need:
- 1-ounce gin (we prefer Empress 1908 Indigo Gin for this drink)
- 1 ounce Rosemary Syrup
- 1 ounce Campari
- 1-ounce vermouth (we used Dolin Rouge)
- Orange peel and fresh sprig of rosemary for garnish (optional)
Directions:
Add the gin, rosemary syrup, Campari, and sweet vermouth to an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Shake well and strain into a rocks glass over a large ice cube or sphere. Garnish with a fresh sprig of rosemary and an expressed orange peel.
Note: for a bolder rosemary flavor, you can burn the ends of the rosemary garnish or use a cocktail smoker kit, infusing the smoke into the glass.
About Empress:
With its bold grapefruit notes and warm herbal earthiness, the Empress 1908 Indigo Gin lends just the right amount of dry, bitter, citrusy, and sweet to the Negroni. This cocktail pairs well with spiced dishes like curries, and can be enjoyed as an aperitif or nightcap.
